In a video released by the Mumbai Indians, Pandya can be seen erecting a mandir, giving candy to the god, and giving hugs to everyone. Breaking a coconut was another good luck tradition carried out by head coach Mark Boucher. After being hurt during the ODI World Cup, Pandya recovered at the NCA before beginning IPL preparations in Baroda.
